more than "just an eye exam"

Digital and Comprehensive Exams

A comprehensive eye exam performed by a Doctor of Optometry is an important part of preventative health care. It can be likened to a physical for the eye because it looks at the entire eye and visual system, in addition to glasses prescriptions.

Comprehensive eye exams can detect eye diseases and disorders such as:

  • Dry Eye Syndrome
  • Cataracts
  • Glaucoma
  • Blepharitis
  • Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD)
  • Retinal Holes, Tears, and Detachments
  • Binocular Vision and Visual Learning Disorders
  • Contact Lens Related Inflammatory and Infectious Processes

Digital Comprehensive Eye Exams are offered which include Retinal Imaging and Optical Coherence Tomography Scans in Addition to the testing above.

Modern Retinal Imaging

We offer retinal imaging and Optical Coherence Tomography scans as part of our Digital Comprehensive Eye Examination. Both of these scans are performed in addition to our Comprehensive Eye Exam allowing for a detailed assessment of your eyes.

Retinal Imaging gives your optometrist a digital image of the back of your eye which can allow your doctor to make an earlier diagnosis of many eye conditions while allowing to compare changes over time. It is quick, painless and can be performed on any age group.

Optical Coherence Tomography is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. This allows your doctor to see each distinctive retinal layer and can catch changes that are not-yet visible to the naked eye. It is safe for all age groups and is encouraged to all of our patients as part of our Digital Comprehensive Eye Exam.
